My work is a reflection of my connection to the natural beauty and permanence of clay.  My creative process involves the manipulation of hand thrown textured slabs.  I focus on this texture and surface patterns that enhance form and represent a life's resilient journey, especially in creating breast-plates.

 

It is said that clay has a language of its own and that it speaks for itself.  For me, pottery is about creating pieces that inherently reflect the natural characteristics of the material, the rough texture, the plasticity, the responsiveness, the history of the craft of pottery, and the art of sculpture.
